CycleOpen Perkins Operating Instructions (Genie/Overhead)
Programming Instructions:

1. Start with your door/gate closed. Locate the Learn/Teach/Program button You will need a ladder.
2. Due to different production years of door openers, there are two different operating methods depending on the year the
opener was manufactured. - Openers Manufactured between 1995 to 2011:
2. Locate the Learn Code Button and Learn Code indicator LED on your Opener’s power head.
3. Press and Release the Learn Code button once.
The Red LED will begin to blink rapidly.
Attention: within 30 seconds, proceed to the next step.
4. Press and release the CycleOpen Remote Button of your choice.
The Red LED will stop blinking.
Attention: While programming the CycleOpen remote, stand at least 5 feet away from the opener.
5. Press and release the same CycleOpen remote button again.
The Red LED will turn off.
6. Test: Press and release the same CycleOpen remote button a third time. The garage door will open, indicating successful programming. 2012 to Present Openers:
- Locate the Program/Set button and the indicator.
2. LED on your opener’s power head.
3. Hold the Program/Set button until the round LED turns blue.
4. Release the Program/Set button.
The long LED will blink purple.
5. Press and release the CycleOpen remote button of your choice.
The long LED button will stop blinking.
Attention: Whole programming the remote buttons, stand at least 5 feet away from the opener.
6. Press and release the same CycleOpen button again.
Both LEDs will blink blue and turn off. - 7. Test: Press and release the same CycleOpen remote button a third time. The garage door will open, indicating
successful programming.
Programming is now complete. To program a second button, repeat the steps starting with Step 1. Note: the above instructions are
general steps for garage mount programming. Usually more specific instructions can be found on your motor until label sticker,
located near your learn button or your instruction manual.
Troubleshooting:
1. Make sure your garage door opener is closed. Sometimes the garage door opener must be closed before programming.
2. Clear programming area. Make sure you are not around other electronics, cell phones, or key fobs to reduce interference.
3. Avoid metal surfaces. Avoid programming the remote near large metal surfaces which can cause interference.
4. Check compatibility. This remote will only work with Genie/Overhead openers manufactured after 1995. Verify that your garage
door opener is compatible with CycleOpen. Refer to the user manual or website www.cycleopen.com .
5. Verify frequency. Make sure the CycleOpen remote is set to the correct frequency for your garage door opener's remote. Refer to
you garage door opener's manual for the correct frequency settings.

Installation Instructions:
Step 1. Choose a safe location on the handlebars of your motorcycle or bike in which to mount the opener.
Step 2. Your CycleOpen remote has a removable handlebar insert. Check the fit of the clamp on your handlebars.
If your handlebars are larger, you may remove the insert to allow the clamp to fit properly.
If your handlebars are smaller, make sure the insert is installed to ensure a secure grip.
The insert is designed to accommodate a wider range of handlebar diameters for a secure and stable installation. Place
the clamp on the underside of the handlebars, position the CycleOpen remote on top and rotate it to your desired angle
around the handlebar.
Step 3. Secure the opener by using the provided torx security wrench to tighten the two mounting screws. Gently tighten them one
at a time to secure the device in place. Start with one screw and then proceed to the other, alternating between them until both are
snug. It is crucial to exercise caution during this step. While it is essential to ensure CycleOpen is firmly attached, overtightening the
screws can potentially damage the mounting system, therefore, we recommend tightening the screws just enough to securely fasten
CycleOpen without applying excessive force.

CycleOpen is not responsible for any damages caused to your motorcycle or bike due to the installation or use of this opener.
Battery Replacement:
The LED on your remote will turn dim and show rapid flashes when the battery is low and needs to be replaced. The CycleOpen
remote uses a 3-volt battery type CR2032.
Battery replacement does not affect the existing programming.
Step 1. Using the provided torx security wrench, remove the two mounting screws to release the clamp so the opener can be
removed from the handlebar.
Step 2. Unscrew the four retaining screws on the back of the remote.
Step 3. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one.
Step 4. Reassemble.
